What's In Store For Us Americans and Our Country?

Ya know I'm kinda concerned for America come the next Presidential election. Seems like we're eager to post our comments about any number of useless trivia, jokes, cute pics, great quotes,  or to play games, or little "fun" things on FB or in our daily lives.  BUT anytime I have posted serious topics and topics that Americans SAY we need to deal with.....then I get silence, you could hear a pin drop. For instance I have spoken up about the injustices of rascism & tried to start a dialogue, specifically with my white friends but the ultimate goal is to get both parties TALKING & coming to some kind of healing. I've also wrote about various political topics, the economy,  actions of the President or political party that I disagreed with, what would be better for the country....etc, etc... But every time I get maybe a "LIKE" or 2 on the posts. More than anything else it is met with silence.

THAT is the thing that scares me about my fellow Americans. If you can't take a few minutes out of your time to post comments, talk about both sides of the topic, or voice your own concerns & beliefs......then what the heck is not only the election gonna result in, but what is our future? Seems like we "talk" a good game about wanting change & the injustices in our country to change, or our economy or laws to change BUT where are YOU when it comes time to say & do something? Heck, ya can't even take time to post 1 thing on FB for 2 seconds? HYPOCRITE!

Yeah that makes me angry! I can't STAND people who say 1 thing but their actions show another. OR they say they will do something but never follow through. Seems like our country is FULL of hypocrites like this!!! Yeah you all want CHANGE but who is changing? It starts with me & you buddy! We have to change in order to get Washington to change. They (politicians) sit back & probably laugh because they know they don't have to change, as long as the people are being led like sheep to the slaughter and not willing to do anything, they can sit back safe in their own hypocrisy!

We won't hardly protest, we won't talk to each other & try to unify under what our country's common goals should be, and we sure as heck don't vote unless someone promises to "take care of us" ......giving us our daily rations, equally yes, but then nobody has to work for anything, nobody has to do anything, just put their hands out  & take a portion. Nobody striving to be or want more, just all being fed the same as everybody else.....sheep to the slaughter! So I guess that is where we are headed....the signs are here, if one can't discuss the day's important issues but would rather play Mafia Wars, or watch youtube, or just READ about the news....oh yeah & not even make sure they are reading the correct, accurate news but just reading what is available, easy to get, easy to read, no work involved to get at the truth. As that comedian says, "Here's Your Sign"! As it is now, we are ok with being fed whatever, we're not QUITE ready or should I say disgusted enough to not only want change, but to talk about it, work on it, & then MAKE it happen.

I'm reminded a lot lately of the famous quote by John F. Kennedy, "Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country!" Then he went on to say, "My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what AMERICA will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man." Wow, powerful words. We have to start being the change & not expect our gov't to be the change! If we change then the gov't has to follow. I will include the speech of J.F.K. here just because it is as applicable today as it was then.

http://www.venicecentral.com/behindthewall.html

Great blog from people connected with the Roger Waters Tour. It's very interesting to see things from the inside. I like what is on the blog already & will look forward to the inside scoops once the tour starts. Glad I ran across this guy's blog!

I can't wait to get word on the first show. I'm so excited! Some news is starting to squeek out on the show itself. I heard it's incorporating video the whole length of the Wall itself. Should be absolutely awesome, especially since I'm gonna be front & center! Yeah, eat your hearts out....I'm so coming back rubbing it in on how awesome it was & what you missed! ;)
From the pinkflodz.com website, I saw this: "Some of the early reviews we have seen have said 'Amazing', 'Mind-Blowing', 'Wow', 'Mind bending, emotional, intense, erotic; best live experience in years!'."

Another tidbit I heard on the tour, there is some kind of a new take on a live mega concert....not sure if it's new technology that gives a new way of entertaining or just a whole new idea that will be shown to us at the show? And of course I forgot where I read that or I would have included it here.  That alone is enough to make me have the butterflies in my stomach. I told Tom I was this excited for our wedding, the birth of Shelby, & The Music City Miracle! LOL Seriously! Geesh you'd think I am doing the darn show & getting stage fright! Hmmmmm, wonder if I'll faint like a school girl at a Beatles Concert in 1967? Oh sure I know I've seen him before & he doesn't float my boat or anything but the whole ENORMITY of  THE WALL being done right in front of me? Will the nerves get to me so much that the blood rushes out of my brain & I totally loose it & have to be given oxygen & fluids? If so I hope somebody passes me a doob so I can get back to reality & watch the show! LOL

Don't you just trip over what I said. HEY, this may be my LAST final stand at being "young, wild, & free"! How could you be so judgemental!?! Are you saying you would deny me that last bit of fun before I'm technically "old"? Shame on you, denying me the most wonderful memories that I can take with me to the "old folks" home!
But that's all I'll have to remember about this stage of my life! Can't I have a mid-life crisis for 2 days? Yes, I think I shall!

Cosmetics & Beauty Junkie

One of my HUGE passions is cosmetics & any beauty and skincare products. I absolutely love trying them all except for the cheapy drugstore kind.....BORING. SEPHORA is like my Heaven! So one thing you will definitely see on my blog are posts about beauty products. I will share what is fab-u-lous & what is a waste of money. Not gonna like review everything but will definitely add my likes. I encourage my friends to comment on your own likes & dislikes too.

I saw a GREAT idea on on some beauty site about a beauty box that you & your friends pass around between each other. Everybody signs up to the list that the box will be mailed to. The box gets to you, you put in samples you no longer want or need, you could include coupons for beauty items or anything related to cosmetics. Each person takes what they want out of the box & puts their own items to donate in, then you would be responsible to mail the box onto the next person in line! Isn't that a FABULOUS idea among friends you trust? It's such a "girly" thing to do isn't it?

I would be ok with opened beauty products from my friends too as long as we all promise to use good sense. For example, to sample anything you want, don't touch applicators to your face, don't put lipstick to your lips, if you try it put it on something & then apply. Stuff like lotions or creams, we all would agree to use a plastic spoon to take out what you want so no fingers would touch the product, no contamination. That way we are all safe from spreading any kind of germs or causing a eye infection ya know.

And I have perfume that I get bored with or want to try new scents so the almost full or half full bottle just sits in my beauty basket. I could send that on along for someone else to enjoy. What do you all think ladies? As my blog progresses & more of my FB ladies read it, maybe we could do this? We could give it a try & see how everyone likes it. Matter of fact, what a great idea for passing along any items, like kids clothes, books, whatever you think someone else in the list would like or use so it wouldn't go to waste. (I'm thinking I have a closet full of purses I don't use hardly at all) We could recycle amongst ourselves. The only responsibility would be we all would have to pay for the postage to mail the box onto the next friend. Ok, we'll keep this on our to-do list like I said as the number of my blog readership by my FB lady friends grow.

I know some of you sell stuff like Avon or Pampered Chef or one of the other sell from home companies. You could also circulate what you sell via adding the catalogs to the box so you might could pick up more sales. I know I always think how I would LOVE to buy from my FB friends but I never know what you are selling at the time, or don't have a catalog to look through. And we all sell stuff for our kids at school, another way to possibly circulate more sales. Wow, the ideas are endless with this thing! But for security of all involved it would have to be a business where you could go online & pay via a website or call in an order via 800 number maybe? I wouldn't want anybody to send a check or cash & get burned. Not that I think any of you would do that but there is always the possibility. If we did it the way I described than no risk since no cash or check is involved. Many of these companies now have websites where your customers can place an order directly with the customer & the items are mailed to your door.

Well, that is all the thoughts I want to write about right now. Have a great rest of the Sunday! Love & (((HUGS))) to all!

My view of Muslims, 9/11,

On my Facebook page, I've been writing a lot about Americans and Muslim relations. This is one I wrote earlier today. I like this one so I wanted it to be one of my first posts on my blog.

Entering the World of Blogging

Little did I know I have been blogging all along. Much to the dismay of my friends on Facebook, I wrote long posts, never a short one. I thought I was just being a better FB friend by "giving more of myself". I figured all these other people are so superficial and never share much about themselves. Me on the other hand, I thought I was offering a rich and special friendship that others could not replicate! I have been immersing my friends with EVERYTHING Diane  and who knew they were secretly cursing my every post!

Well, chalk it up to, I'm past 30 years old so what do I know about technology, social networking, and what is hip! Now that the door has been opened, get ready ya'll, I shall be enlightened! From this day forward I will walk through the land of Blogging. Now, don't think I have gotten all high and mighty. I still could care less about proper grammar and if I misspell something. I can't be bothered with such frivolities! Besides I have done all the hard work of thinking and typing, the least you can do is correct my grammer and spelling on your own time! Especially since I will be enriching your life with my "wisdom & ravings". Your sure to come back again and again and again!

So here I go, wish me luck. I might take several days just to play around with it, changing the look, or playing with settings.  Goodnight all until my first legit ramblings!
